This 4th of July was a HOT!!!, with a heat wave and poor air quality making it quite a challenge to stay comfortable. I hope you all managed to enjoy the holiday and are already looking forward to planning your next getaway without the heat wave, LOL.
This year, I opted for a staycation at the Lansdowne Resort and Spa. It was so refreshing to keep things simple – no extensive packing, long drives, or hectic flights. Sometimes, the hustle and bustle of travel can make vacationing feel like a chore, don’t you think? For me, it’s all about minimizing stress and maximizing family time.
We kicked off our staycation with a pool party, but waited until the sun went down to avoid the worst of the heat. Earlier in the day, we decided to go golfing. Despite the high temperatures, it was surprisingly bearable thanks to the golf course’s thoughtful landscaping with plenty of trees and nearby water that provided a lovely, cooling breeze.
Most of the time we stayed at one of the many pools at the resort. We made sure to stay in the shade! The pool attendants were nice enough to place umbrellas around our lounge chairs. They have servers for you to place your orders from lunch, snacks, alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages. I’t was so hot I had a pina colada. My favorite was the chicken caesars salad with anchovies, so yummy.
If you’re looking for a way to enjoy your time off without the added stress of extensive travel, I highly recommend considering a staycation. Lansdowne Resort and Spa made it easy to relax and enjoy quality time with my family, and I’m already looking forward to our next visit.

- Stay Hydrated: Keep water handy, especially if you’re spending time outdoors. A reusable water bottle is a great travel companion. Yeti’s are my favorite.

- Try Local Cuisine: Explore local restaurants or try the resort’s dining options. It’s a great way to experience the local flavor without traveling far.
